1971 Corvette Coupe for sale. Do not miss this opportunity to own a bit of history.
Whenever you are looking to buy a second car somewhere has to write the phrase with a few miles of use. That is not the case with this 1971 Corvette Coupe that is currently for sale on eBay. He has spent the last 42 years with the same owner in Southern California and has recorded a total of 522,000 miles since birth. Thats basically the equivalent of a return visit to the moon.
The numbers indicate the 1971 Corvette Coupe was purchased when he was only one year old Eddie Hopper in Garden Grove, CA. Also in the garage was a 1966 Corvette roadster track. The almost new 1971 Corvette Coupe would be used on a daily and on weekends would be the cruise for walks. It soon became apparent that the automatic transmission was not good so we called Dick Guldstrand and ask him, as usual, to build a 4-speed manual transmission that allows the car to make it more convenient for long walks to the Corvette club.
During the 1980s, the Mulsanne Blue factory paint was replaced by fashionable color: red Ferrari. At that time vinyl interior was changed to blue red leather. Many years later, in 2006, the red Ferrari was replaced by a Nissan hue called Code Red.
During 2009 (47,000 miles ago) 270hp engine was rebuilt and the output was beaten to let the car generates 310hp. In the eBay listing has details about the inner workings of the engine. Some other more recently addressed maintenance items include new spark plugs, oil and air filters, hoses and belts new, a new clutch, transmission services and new position fluids, wheel bearings with services, a Serviced and brake rotors and new pads and several other items.
The car is honestly represented as a car 522,100 miles. The painting shows minor scratches and bubbling. The tires must be replaced. The interior is consistent with the age 30 years old and shows some of the points in the original blue. The seller claims that everything works except the clock. The car includes power windows, steering and brakes, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and air conditioning.
Included in the sale is the complete maintenance history of new receipts, including California "Blue-plates", original owners manual, an extra set of keys, and a good record in California until August this year.
This C3 has obviously had a busy life and is ready for another half a million miles with its next owner. Be sure to check out some photos of the old school in the eBay listing, which ends on 23 March at 1:49:18 PM PST.
