2002 Audi A4 Door Panel Removal

1. Open the door as wide as possible. Pull the door handle back to gain access to the Philips screw behind it. Remove this screw and then pull the handle and handle enclosure off the door. There are two more Philips screws behind it that need to be removed.
2. Locate and remove the two screws along the bottom edge of the door panel and the two along the front edge. Pull the door panel away from the door, starting at one corner. Pull until the plastic clips behind the panel pop and separate from the door. There are clips located along each side and the bottom of the panel.
3. Lift the panel up and away from the door. Reach behind it and unclip the wiring harness connection between the door and the door and window controls to completely remove the door panel.

1. Open the passenger-side front door. Remove the plastic trim on the side of the dash that rests against the door. The trim is held on with clips and can be pulled off by hand.
2. Open the glove box door. Remove the five 8-mm bolts that fasten the glove box to the dash with a socket wrench. Disconnect the wiring harness for the glove box light. Remove the glove box, noting how the lower rear edge of it clips into place.
3. Locate the blower motor, which is a large, black, round part bolted to the underside of the dash. Disconnect the wires that go to the blower motor. The harness may be behind the motor and difficult to reach.
4. Remove the bolts that hold the blower motor to the dash with a socket wrench. Plug the wiring harness into the new blower motor to ensure that the new blower motor functions properly.
5. Install the new blower motor by bolting it into place in the reverse order that the old motor was removed.
6. Reinstall the glove box. Install the bolts and tighten them. Plug the wires back in to the glove box light. Reinstall the dash side trim.

1. Pop the hood. Peel back the rubber molding located between the firewall and the plastic cowl and lift off the plastic cover. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to disconnect the cowl from the windshield area, then disconnect the remaining bolt in the passenger-side corner of the cowl with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Lift the cover away from the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery with the open-end wrench, then follow suit with the positive terminal. Unbolt the battery tie-down strap using a combination of the ratchet and an open-end wrench and lift the battery out of the engine compartment.
3. Set the replacement battery in the engine compartment, making sure that the terminals are in the same orientation as the original battery. Connect the positive terminal, then the negative terminal with a wrench. Reinstall the battery tie-down..
4. Set the windshield cowl back onto its original location and install it with the Phillips-head screwdriver and the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Set the battery cover over the battery and push the rubber molding back over the end.
